Summary:

Auburn is (6-3) with wins over #6 Washington, Alabama State, Arkansas, Southern Mississippi, Ole Miss, and #20 Texas A&M.  They were defeated by #12 LSU, Mississippi State, and Tennessee.  Auburn has shown they can compete with the top teams but also have some puzzling losses against inferior competition.  Auburn capitalized on three turnovers in their 28-24 victory over #20 Texas A&M last week.  The Tigers rank 75th in points per game (28.3) and 13th in scoring defense (17.3 PPG).  Quarterback Jarrett Stidham has completed 60% of his passes for 1,953 yards with 10 touchdowns to 4 interceptions.  Ja’Tarvious Whitlow is the team’s leading rusher with 642 yards and 4 touchdowns.  The Tigers’ defense ranks 57th against the pass (222.2 YPG) and 34th against the run (134.1 YPG).

Georgia is (8-1) with victories over Austin Peay, #24 South Carolina, Middle Tennessee, Missouri, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, #9 Florida, and #9 Kentucky.  Their lone defeat was a 36-16 road loss to #13 LSU in week seven.  Georgia piled up 331 rushing yards in their 34-17 victory over #9 Kentucky last week.  The Bulldogs rank 20th in points per game (38.1) and 10th in scoring defense (16.4 PPG).  Quarterback Jake Fromm has completed 67% of his passes for 1,762 yards with 17 touchdowns to 4 interceptions.  Georgia has a pair of running backs in Elijah Holyfield and D’Andre Swift that have over 600 rushing yards and at least 5 touchdowns.  The Bulldogs’ defense ranks 11th against the pass (172.3 YPG) and 35th against the run (134.2 YPG).  Georgia has the 21st best turnover margin (+0.6) in the country.

Bottom Line:

Georgia has won six of the last eight head to head meetings against Auburn.  Other than the LSU blip, Georgia has been nothing but consistent, scoring at least 34 points in every other game this season.  This game will be tight early but Georgia will wear down Auburn’s front with the dynamic duo of Holyfield and Swift.

Georgia wins 34-24
