Summary:

Washington will be without their all-star point guard John Wall (19.4 PPG and 9.3 APG) who remains sidelined with a knee injury.  The Wizards have played surprisingly well in Wall’s absence going (9-3).  Bradley Beal is having a career season (23.7 PPG and 4.3 APG) and has picked up much of the scoring load of late.  Both Otto Porter (14.5 PPG) and Kelly Oubre (11.7 PPG) have emerged as quality “3 and D” wing players.  The Wizards lack an interior presence and don’t receive much scoring from their frontcourt.  Washington has one of the better starting units in the league but their bench ranks 18th in scoring (34.9).  The Wizards average 107.4 points per game (11th) and allow 105.8 (15th).

Milwaukee is (6-4) in their last ten games and recently got forward Jabari Parker back.  Parker (9.3 PPG) suffered his second serious knee injury late last season and remains on a minute restriction.  Giannis Antetokounmpo (27.8 PPG, 10.4 RPG, and 4.8 APG) has carried the Bucks for the majority of the season and is a legitimate MVP candidate.  It really is amazing to watch Antetokounmpo who leads the NBA averaging 16.4 PPG in the paint.  Khris Middleton (20.0 PPG) has been very steady and is definitely a candidate for comeback player of the year.  I loved the mid-season addition of Eric Bledsoe (17.4 PPG and 4.6 APG) who has played very well for Milwaukee.  The Bucks are the weakest rebounding team in the NBA this season.  The Bucks average 104.9 points per game (17th) and allow 104.9 (11th).

Bottom Line:

The Bucks are (19-11) at home this season while the Wizards are (17-14) on the road.  Milwaukee is (2-1) against Washington this season.  The Wizards have played great basketball with John Wall sitting out but the Bucks are one of the best defensive teams in the league.  Milwaukee often gets exposed on the glass but the Wizards don’t have any dominant big men.  I’m taking the Bucks to win and cover the (-7.1) spread at home.
