The NCAA Tournament is the stage where stars and memories are made in college basketball. If you’re looking for who could be the next highlight reel darling in the tournament, look to these 5 players.

Brandon Ingram – #14 – Duke (FR)

Wingspan is through the roof. With a 7’3″ wingspan uses his length well to finish at the rim. Plays the game very efficiently. Has a great midrange jumper for his size. His shooting ability is why he will be a top 5 pick in this year’s draft. Range extends to the NBA three-point line. Uses size and length to easily shoot over smaller defenders. Length and long strides make him a complete hassle to keep out of the paint. The kid loves playing with the ball in his hands down the stretch of games. Due to his size he’s able to see over defenders & distribute the ball. Has a high basketball IQ, look for him to make plays deep into games to help Duke advance a couple rounds.

Jaylen Brown – #0 – Cal (FR)

Supremely talented guard. He often outmuscles his opponents whether attacking the basket or bodying up defenders in the post. Not just strong, but also a high-level athlete. Has a combination of strength and speed that is rarely seen in college. Very good finisher around the rim. Is excellent at splitting defenders whether in the air or off the dribble. Often finishes with ferocious slams and tenacity at the hoop. Can play and defend four positions. Anytime his in transition he will wreak havoc on the defense. Look for him to take his team to a match-up with Kansas.

Buddy Hield – #24 – Oklahoma (SR)

Very rarely do players improve dramatically between their junior, and senior years of college, but Oklahoma senior, Buddy Hield has taken his game to the next level during his senior season. (25.0 per game, good for 2nd in the nation). Top 3 player of the year. He showcases NBA range, and even beyond, rendering him a player that needs to be guarded out to 26 feet away from the hoop. He reportedly shoots between 500-700 jumpers a session outside of Oklahoma’s practices, which is an attribute to his work ethic and desire to be the best player in the country. From a defensive standpoint, he is very solid considering the offensive load he carries for his team. Look for him to make some huge buckets in this tournament for his team to advance to the Final Four.

Jakob Poeltl – #30 – Utah (SO)

There is not much 7’ footer who can run the floor like he does. He gets up and down the court very well, giving strong effort on every possession. Often gets himself open just by out-hustling opposing big men. He has a long & agile. Look for him to finish with both hands around the rim. He plays really hard every minute on the floor, has a good. Look for him to have the ball in his hands late in games for Utah throughout the tournament run. Having some Austrian blood never hurts either!

Kris Dunn – #3 – Providence (JR)

POY candidate from the start of the season. Point guard with excellent size, versatility & athleticism. Possesses a very quick first step to blow by opponents, utilizing it well to attack the basket. Displays great ability to pass and create shots for teammates. Also has the ability to take over the game with his scoring. Matching up with UNC and a showdown with Joel Berry III will be an all-time classic matchup with guard play. Look for him to do a good job of driving, drawing defenders and then finding the open man for jumpers. Makes highlight plays attacking the basket. Excellent defender with great anticipation on steals (2.6 per game, good for 4th in the nation).
