Summary:
Washington has a (1-0) series lead after defeating Atlanta 114-107. The Wizards were sluggish in the first half but scored 69 points in the second half to pull away. All of Washington’s starters scored in double figures. John Wall was sensational for the Wizards scoring 32 points and dishing out 14 assists. One big concern for the Wizards is their bench who managed a combined 15 points. Turnovers have been a problem for Atlanta all season and they coughed up 19 more in their game one defeat. Turnovers are bad against any team but especially versus Washington who love to get out in transition with the speed and athleticism of Wall. Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard combined to only attempt 14 shots which is rather puzzling. The Wizards have now won five of their last head to head meetings with Atlanta. I think once again the Wizards will feast on Atlanta turnovers and win game two at home.
