The Crowd:
“The Crowd” projects a final score of Patriots 25.3 – Broncos 21.7 with an over/under of 46.2. The Vegas Line has a final score of Patriots 23.5 – Broncos 20.5 with an over/under of 44.0.
2016-17 Statistics (32 total teams):
Yards per game: Patriots 395.8 (4th) > Broncos 328.1 (25th)
Points per game: Patriots 26.8 (5th) > Broncos 22.8 (16th)
Turnover margin: Broncos +5 > Patriots +3
Fewest yards allowed per game: Broncos 310.7 (3rd) > Patriots 338.1 (9th)
Fewest Points allowed per game: Patriots 17.7 (2nd) > Broncos 18.6 (6th)
Summary:
New England is (8-1) since quarterback Tom Brady returned from his suspension. Brady is playing like an MVP candidate completing nearly 69% of his passes with 22 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions. The Patriots are averaging just a shade under 30 points per in the nine games Brady has started. The New England defense is playing at a high level as well ranking as a top ten unit all season. The Patriots (+119) lead the NFL in point differential whereas the Broncos (+54) rank 5th.
Denver is struggling and are just (2-3) in their last five games. The Broncos still have one of the NFL’s elite defenses which will keep them in any game. Denver has actually won three of the last four head to head games with New England. Denver is (4-2) at home this season while New England is a perfect (6-0) on the road. I think this will be a low scoring game with two great defenses dominating the game but I like New England to win on the road by a field goal.
