Summary:
The Astros enter the game 13th in the league in runs scored (4.54) while the Rangers (4.46) rank 14th. Texas dominated this match-up a year ago going (16-3) against Houston though the Astros are (1-0) against the Rangers this season. The Astros are (10-5) at home this year while the Rangers are just (3-7) on the road. Houston hitters have had success against Texas starter Nick Martinez hitting a combined .313 against him. Astros starter Charlie Morton has held Rangers hitters to a combined .250 average against. Houston’s pitching staff has been excellent ranking 2nd in the league with a 3.33 team ERA. Texas has really struggled with the bats hitting just .219 which ranks 28th in the league. Rangers reliever Sam Dyson has been removed from the closer role after several blown saves and a disastrous 17.18 ERA. Houston has the advantage in nearly every statistical category this season and should win this one at home.
