Strength of schedule:
Stanford is (3-2) on the season with wins over Kansas State, USC, and UCLA. Their losses came Washington and Washington State. Notre Dame is (2-4) with wins over Nevada and Syracuse. They were defeated by Texas, Michigan State, Duke, and NC State.
Summary:
Notre Dame is suffering one of their most miserable seasons in recent memory. Their defense is full of holes and they have yet to defeat a quality opponent this year. An important factor to watch is the health status of Stanford’s two starting cornerbacks. They have sat out the last two weeks and thus have been shredded through the air in two losses. Stanford’s offense has been one of the lower scoring units in the nation but could take advantage of a poor Notre Dame defense. If Stanford falls down early they have no chance because their passing game is atrocious. I think Stanford will be able to run the ball and control time of possession. Notre Dame struggles to take care of the football and that could be the difference in this one.
