Summary:
Kentucky finished the year 0-6 and appear heading in the wrong direction. They have a new quarterback in sophomore Drew Barker and a brutal schedule this year. The front seven on defense is better than a year ago.
Southern Miss burst onto the scene last season with a prolific offensive attack. Quarterback Nick Mullens returns after winning Conference USA Player of the Year Award. Mullens threw for 4, 476 yards and 38 touchdowns. Running back Ito Smith also comes back after rushing for 1,128 yards and 10 touchdowns. On defense the Golden Eagles bring back their two top pass rushers and their leading tackler. I like Southern Miss to beat Kentucky in week one.
