Oklahoma is (10-2) with wins over Louisiana-Monroe, TCU, Texas, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Kansas, Iowa State, Baylor, West Virginia, and Oklahoma State. They were defeated by Ohio State and Houston. Auburn is (8-4) with wins over Arkansas State, LSU, Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Alabama A&M. They lost to Georgia, Clemson, Texas A&M, and Alabama.
Summary:
Oklahoma finished the season on a nine-game winning streak. The Sooners scored 30 or more points in every game but one this season. Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is one of the most dynamic players in the country and throws for nearly 320 yards per game. Auburn does have one of the best defenses ranking 5th in fewest points allowed per game at just 15.6 but they will have their hands full with the explosive Sooners offense. Auburn doesn’t have much of a passing game on offense but they rush for nearly 300 yards per game. The Tigers have a great power back in Kerryon Johnson who averaged 5.0 yards per carry and had 11 touchdowns. I think Oklahoma will be able to put up points so Auburn will be forced to throw the ball to keep pace. Oklahoma’s defense has been porous this year ranking 75th in fewest points allowed per game at 29.7. I think this game will be tight but I like Oklahoma because their offense is so versatile.
