2016-17 Statistics (32 total teams):

Yards per game: Raiders 380.3 (6th) > Chargers 360.8 (11th)

Points per game: Raiders 27.5 (tied for 2nd) > Chargers 26.9 (4th)

Turnover margin: Raiders +15 > Chargers -5

Fewest yards allowed per game: Chargers 353.3 (17th) > Raiders 384.5 (30th)

Fewest Points allowed per game: Raiders 24.6 (23rd) > Chargers 26.7 (29th)

Summary:

Oakland comes into the game red hot having won six of their last seven games.  San Diego has fallen on hard times losing four of their last six games.  I expect this to be a high-scoring shootout with two of the league’s top five offenses squaring off.  The Raiders have won the last three head to head games including a 34-31 victory in Oakland earlier this season.  Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is banged up with hip and knee sprains which could limit his effectiveness.  Oakland (+38) has a slight advantage over San Diego (+3) in terms of point differential.  The big mismatch is the turnover margin where Oakland leads the league (+15) and San Diego (-5) ranks near the bottom.  I expect both teams to put up points but San Diego will have a few costly turnovers that cost them a win.
