Summary:
Both teams limp into the playoffs with huge question marks at the quarterback position. The Raiders will be without their top two quarterbacks in Derek Carr and Matt McGloin who will both sit out with injuries. Oakland will turn to rookie Connor Cook who had mixed results in their 24-6 loss to Denver last week. Cook had a sparkling career at Michigan State but has only played in one NFL game thus far. After Tom Savage failed to throw a touchdown in three games Houston is turning back to Brock Osweiler to solve their quarterback woes. Osweiler signed a huge $80 million deal in the offseason to be the franchise quarterback but has been very disappointing. Osweiler threw for nearly 3,000 yards with 15 touchdowns/16 interceptions in his first full season. The strength of the Raiders was their potent offense but without Carr I don’t see how they put up points against a tough Texans defense. Turnovers have been a major problem for Houston this season but if they take care of the ball they should win this one at home.
