2015-16 Statistics (32 total teams):

Last season Dallas finished with a (4-12) record and a (-99) point differential.  New York was (6-10) with a (-22) point differential.

Yards per game: Giants 372.0 > Cowboys 335.1 (22nd)

Turnover margin: Giants +7 (6th)> Cowboys -22 (32nd)

Fewest yards allowed per game: Cowboys 347.9 (17th) > Giants 420.3 (32nd)

Fewest Points allowed per game: Cowboys 23.4 (16th) > Giants 27.6 (30th)

Summary:

Obviously most of the Cowboys stats are skewed from last season because of all the injuries but again they will be without quarterback Tony Romo for a considerable amount of time.  Dallas will be forced to start rookie Dak Prescott who was somewhat of a preseason star but that means little against what is mostly soft coverage.

The Giants return all the parts from what was a pretty explosive offense a season ago but their defense was abysmal.  They made a concerted effort to improve on that side of the ball in the offseason but it remains to be seen.  Dallas has gotten the better of this match-up in recent years in what are mostly high scoring games.  I like the Giants to win this one because really nobody knows what to expect from Dak and rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott in their NFL debuts.
