Statistics (2016-17 season):

Point differential: North Carolina 15.9 PPG > Louisville 13.7 PPG

Summary:

North Carolina is (8-2) in their last ten games while Louisville is also (8-2) in that span.  North Carolina is (11-3) in conference play whereas Louisville is (10-4).  Clearly North Carolina is the better offensive team and Louisville hangs their hat on the defensive end of the floor.  The Tar Heels front line has the advantage on the interior rebounding and scoring in the paint.  Louisville should be able to limit the transition points from North Carolina because they take care of the ball so well.  North Carolina will be able to dictate the tempo of the game with a slower pace.  I believe North Carolina’s size will be too much for Louisville to handle and they will win at home where they have lost just once this season.
