The Crowd:

“The Crowd” is projecting a final score of Rockets 109.5 – Clippers 100.4 with an over/under of 209.9.

Statistics (2016-17 season):

Point differential: Rockets +7.0 (3rd) > Clippers +3.4 (7th)

Assists per game: Rockets 25.6 (2nd) > Clippers 22.5 (tied for 13th)

Summary:

Houston is (7-3) in their last ten games while Los Angeles is just (5-5).  The Clippers have struggled without Chris Paul going (6-8) in the games he missed since suffering the thumb injury.  Paul has finally returned to the lineup and recorded 17 assists in their overtime win over the Hornets on Sunday.  These two teams have split their last ten head to head games.  Houston is obviously the more potent offensive team while the Clippers are stronger on the defensive end.  The addition of Lou Williams gives Houston two dynamic scorers off their bench.  I think the (-9.1) differential the “The Crowd” is projecting is pretty steep considering the Clippers are again at full strength.  I’m still taking the Rockets to win but I anticipate a much closer game.
