“The Crowd” projects a final score of LSU 31.9 – Florida 16.7 with an over/under of 48.6.

2016-17 Statistics (127 total teams):

Passing offense: Florida 225.5 YPG > LSU 170.7 YPG

Rushing defense: Florida 111.7 YPG > LSU 114.0 YPG

Turnover Margin Per Game: LSU +0.2 > Florida +0.1

Strength of schedule:

LSU is (6-3) with wins over Jacksonville State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, and Arkansas.  Their losses came against Wisconsin, Auburn, and Alabama.  Florida is (7-2) with wins over Massachusetts, Kentucky, North Texas, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Georgia, and South Carolina.  They were defeated by Tennessee and Arkansas.

Summary:

After struggling early in the season the LSU offense has come to life averaging 32.6 points in their last five games (including a shutout loss to Alabama).  Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice have formed one of the best backfield duos in recent memory.  Both Florida and LSU rank as top 6 teams defensively so this game will likely be a low scoring affair.  Florida’s defense is phenomenal but they have struggled to score points averaging 21.4 over their last five games.  LSU definitely has more talent offensively and Danny Etling has brought some stability to the quarterback position.  With this game now being played in Baton Rouge I like LSU to win by double digits.
