Summary:
Cleveland is (6-4) in their last ten games and have lost three of their last four. The injuries to Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, and Andrew Bogut have depleted Cleveland’s depth and placed a heavy burden on Lebron James and Kyrie Irving. Smith is expected to make his long-awaited return Thursday night in Detroit. Cleveland’s defense has continued to be a problem as they have slipped into the bottom third of the league in fewest points allowed per game (106.5). Houston is (7-3) in their last ten and have been on quite the scoring binge putting up 110 or more points in five of their last six. With two of the NBA’s top three offenses doing battle I expect a high scoring affair. Houston has proved to be a tough match-up for Cleveland winning seven of their last nine head to head meetings. I’m going against “The Crowd” and picking Houston to win at home where they are (23-8) this season.
