Summary:
Toronto’s (+93) run differential ranked 3rd in the American League while Baltimore (+29) tied for 4th. The Blue Jays won the season series (10-9) outscoring Baltimore 97-81 in those nineteen games. Toronto clearly had no trouble against Orioles pitching which is their biggest question mark. Blue Jays hitters are batting a combined .299 off of Baltimore starter Chris Tillman. If this is a close game Baltimore holds a huge advantage in regards to the bullpen.
Toronto has a myriad of options to start this game but they will not have ace Aaron Sanchez who they needed to reach this wild card game. They could look to the hard throwing Marcus Stroman who was outstanding last post-season. Stroman has been up and down this season and Baltimore hitters are batting a combined .309 off of him. Ultimately I think Toronto has the advantage playing at home especially since Baltimore is under .500 on the road.
