Summary:
This is a battle of two of the best defensive units in all of college football. Stanford doesn’t have much of a passing attack but Heisman contender Christian McCaffrey can be a game changer running, catching, and returning kicks. Washington returns seven starters on defense and their strength is stopping the pass. Stanford has owned this match-up in recent memory but they may find a win is tougher to come by on the road. Washington loves to run the ball but Stanford’s defense excels at stuffing the ground game. Huskies speedy receiver John Ross could be a major difference maker because Stanford’s weakness on defense is through the air. Ultimately I think Stanford gets by with a close win on the road.
