Strength of schedule:
Ohio State is (6-0) with wins over Bowling Green, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Wisconsin and Indiana. Penn State is (4-2) with wins over Kent State, Temple, Minnesota, and Maryland. Their losses came against Pittsburgh and Michigan.
Summary:
Penn State continues to improve slowly after the sanctions from the Joe Paterno era were lifted. The Nittany Lions have won the games they should have but were blown out in their only real test against Michigan. Ohio State narrowly escaped a loss on the road against a top ten Wisconsin team. Penn State struggles against the run and that’s where Ohio State thrives. If the opportunistic Ohio State defenses forces a few turnovers early, then this one could get ugly fast. The Buckeyes are the superior team on paper and should win this one big.
