2016-17 Statistics (127 total teams):

Texas is (2-0) after beating Notre Dame and UTEP in the first two weeks of the 2016 NCAA Football season.  California is (1-1) with a win over Hawaii and a loss against Dan Diego State last week.

Rushing offense: Texas 204.0 YPG > California 135.5 YPG

Scoring offense: Texas 45.5 PPG = California 45.5 PPG

Scoring defense: Texas 13.0 PPG > California 29.5 PPG

Passing defense: Texas 155.5 YPG > California 181.5 YPG

Rushing defense: Texas 170.5 YPG > California 291.0 YPG

Turnover Margin Per Game: California +0.5 > Texas -0.5

Summary:

California’s offense is putting up huge numbers even with quarterback Davis Webb replacing number one overall pick Jared Goff.  California’s defense has been beyond awful allowing nearly 300 yards rushing per game.  Texas loves to run the ball and should feast on the poor defense.  Texas freshman quarterback Shane Buechele is off to a phenomenal start and already looks like he’s destined for stardom.  Texas has already beaten Notre Dame this year and looks to be finally clicking on all cylinders under head coach Charlie Strong.  I like Texas in a shootout.
