Summary:

Gonzaga is (6-0) against ranked opponents while South Carolina is (6-2).  These teams rank as the two best in the nation in defensive efficiency.  Gonzaga ranks 1st in point differential (+22.3) and 2nd in field goal percentage defense 36.5%.  For the tournament, Gonzaga is averaging 72.3 points while allowing 59.0.  South Carolina, by comparison, have averaged 82.0 points and have allowed 68.5.  Gonzaga is the deeper team with seven players averaging at least seven points per game whereas South Carolina has just four.  The Bulldogs have a big advantage on the glass where their size will be problematic for the smaller South Carolina team.  The Gamecocks thrive on forcing turnovers with their intense defensive pressure but Gonzaga rarely turns the ball over (11.4 TPG).  Sindarius Thornwell (21.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game) is an absolute beast for South Carolina but he will have to get a lot of help if they want to pull off the upset.  Gonzaga has the advantage in nearly every statistical measure and should advance to the Championship Game.
