2016-17 Statistics (127 total teams):

Passing offense: Ohio State 214.0 YPG > Wisconsin 198.6 YPG

Rushing offense: Ohio State 323.6 YPG > Wisconsin 161.6 YPG

Scoring offense: Ohio State 53.2 PPG > Wisconsin 26.0 PPG

Rushing defense: Wisconsin 90.4 YPG > Ohio State 97.8 YPG

Turnover Margin Per Game: Ohio State +1.4 > Wisconsin 0

Strength of schedule:

Ohio State is (5-0) with wins over Bowling Green, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rutgers, and Indiana.  Wisconsin is (4-1) with wins over LSU, Akron, Georgia State, and Michigan State.  Their only loss was a seven-point defeat on the road against a top ten Michigan team.

Summary:

Ohio State is the only team in the nation ranked in the top five in scoring offense and scoring defense.  On paper they are the best team in the country but they have played an easy schedule with the exception of an impressive road win versus Oklahoma.  Wisconsin has played a difficult schedule and their only loss came against a top ten opponent.  Wisconsin has one of the best defenses in the country but will have their hands full with an Ohio State team that averages over 300 yards per game on the ground and over 200 through the air.  I think the Badgers will be able to slow down the prolific Ohio State offense but their offense won’t score enough points to win this game.  Remember Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is 55-4 in conference play since he took over.
