Statistics (9 total teams):
Both Winnipeg and Calgary are (0-1) after dropping their first game by a narrow margin. Calgary finished the 2015 season with a (14-4) record while Winnipeg was (5-13). Calgary had a point differential of (+132) whereas Winnipeg (-149) ranked near the bottom of the league.
Calgary ranked 2nd in points per game (26.6). They will be up against a Winnipeg defense that ranked 8th in points allowed per game (27.9). Winnipeg’s offense ranked last in points per game (19.6). They will square off with a Calgary defense that ranked 2nd in points allowed per game (19.2).
Summary:
Both teams are coming off disappointing losses in their first game. Calgary isn’t quite the team they were last year but I was surprised to see “The Crowd” give Winnipeg such an edge. Winnipeg does have a star quarterback in Matt Nichols but he can’t do it alone. This should be a close game but I like Calgary at home.
