Overview:
On Friday, August 25th, the (3-4-0) Saskatchewan Roughriders will be on the road to take on the (7-1-0) Edmonton Eskimos.
The Crowd:
“The Crowd” projects a final score of Edmonton 30.9 – Saskatchewan 23.1 with an over/under of 54.0.
2017 Statistics (9 total teams):
Point differential: Edmonton +28 (2nd) > Saskatchewan +25 (4th)
Points per game: Edmonton 28.8 (3rd) > Saskatchewan 28.1 (4th)
Points allowed per game: Saskatchewan 24.6 (2nd) > Edmonton 25.3 (4th)
Yards per game: Edmonton 431.1 (1st) > Saskatchewan 391.7 (7th)
Yards allowed per game: Edmonton 362.1 (3rd) > Saskatchewan 388.4 (5th)
Summary:
Edmonton is now (7-1-0) after suffering their first loss of the season to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Mike Reilly threw for 356 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss. Reilly had a crucial interception to end the first half which completely changed the momentum of the game. Edmonton was not able to stop the run of defense and lost the possession battle by a striking 13 minutes. Saskatchewan should be well rested coming off their bye week. Prior to that, Saskatchewan was coming off their most impressive win of the season: a 41-8 beatdown of the BC Lions. Edmonton is (4-0-0) at home this season while Saskatchewan is (0-3-0) on the road. Statistically, these teams are pretty evenly matched, so I predict a closer final score than the 7.8 spread “The Crowd” is currently predicting. Edmonton is the better team across the board and should be able to win this one at home.
