2016 Statistics (9 total teams):

Point differential: Edmonton +3 (2nd) > Montreal +1 (3rd)

Points per game: Edmonton 30.0 (4th) > Montreal 17.0 (6th)

Points allowed per game: Montreal 16.0 (3rd) > Edmonton 27.0 (5th)

Yards per game: Edmonton 420.0 (3rd) > Montreal 332.0 (8th)

Yards allowed per game: Edmonton 394.0 (3rd) > Montreal 401.0 (4th)

Summary:

Edmonton was able to pull out a comeback road win in the last 40 seconds to upset the BC Lions 30-27.  Edmonton quarterback Mike Reily beat the defense for a 76-yard gain setting up the game winning field goal.  Reily completed 20-28 passes for 315 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Of concern for Edmonton was star linebacker JC Sherritt having to be helped off the field after going down with a non-contact injury.  Montreal was able to hold of Saskatchewan in a 17-16 season opening victory.  Roughriders kicker Tyler Crapigna had a chance to win the game with a 45-yard field goal but it was off target.  Montreal quarterback Darian Durant threw for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns against his former team.  Montreal is weak offensively and Edmonton should be able to put up enough points to outscore them at home.
