Summary:
The Indians enter the game 9th in the league in runs per game (4.81) while the and 5th in team earned run average (3.87). The Twins are 16th in runs per game (4.71) and 26th in team ERA (4.96). Cleveland is (8-2) against the Twins this season including a four-game sweep in Minnesota last week. The Indians have outscored the Twins 57-23 in those ten games. Cleveland is (7-3) in their last ten games while Minnesota is just (4-6). The Indians offense has been revitalized with the recent hot streaks from Jose Ramirez and Edwin Encarnacion.
Twins starter Kyle Gibson (4-5, 6.56) is off to a rough start this season. Indians hitters have owned Gibson batting a combined .344 off him. Indians starter Corey Kluber (6-2, 3.58) has battled injuries but has been dominant since returning from the disabled list. Kluber has been very successful against the Twins hitters holding them to a combined .198 average against. The Indians are (15-17) at home this season while Minnesota is a surprising (20-9) on the road. I expect the Indians to score early and often off of Gibson. Kluber should be able to pitch deep into the game with a big lead and hand the ball over to one of the best bullpens in baseball to close it out.
