Overview:

Mark May:

Mark is going with “The Crowd” predicting a final score of Cowboys 35 – Packers 28.

The Crowd:

“The Crowd” projects a final score of Cowboys 27.1 – Packers 25.6 with an over/under of 52.7.  The Vegas Line has a final score of Cowboys 28.0 – Packers 24.0 with an over/under of 52.0.

2016-17 Statistics (32 total teams):

Yards per game: Cowboys 376.7 (5th) > Packers 368.8 (8th)

Points per game: Packers 27.0 (4th) > Cowboys 26.3 (5th)

Turnover margin: Packers +8 > Cowboys +5

Fewest yards allowed per game: Cowboys 343.9 (14th) > Packers 363.9 (22nd)

Fewest Points allowed per game: Cowboys 19.1 (5th) > Packers 24.2 (21st)

Summary:

Green Bay is red hot riding a seven-game winning streak.  The Packers are averaging 31.9 points per game during their winning streak.  The Giants were one of the best defenses all season but Green Bay still dropped 38 points on them.  The Cowboys enter the game well rested but lost two of their last four games.  The Cowboys tied for the NFL’s best home record at (7-1) while the Packers were (4-4) on the road.  Dallas (+115) ranks 3rd in point differential while Green Bay (+44) is 8th.  Dallas beat the Packers 30-16 earlier this season at Lambeau Field.  Unlike the defensively minded Giants, Dallas can score at the same rate as the Packers.  I think this will be a high-scoring game with two of the NFL’s top five offenses going head to head.  The Cowboys are the more balanced team on both sides of the ball and should win this one at home.
