Mark May:

Mark is going with “The Crowd” predicting a final score of Packers 35 – Lions 21.

The Crowd:

“The Crowd” projects a final score of Packers 27.0 – Lions 22.3 with an over/under of 49.4.

2016-17 Statistics (32 total teams):

Yards per game: Packers 363.5 (10th) > Lions 334.2 (23rd)

Points per game: Packers 26.7 (6th) > Lions 21.5 (21st)

Turnover margin: Packers +7 > Lions 0

Fewest yards allowed per game: Lions 348.5 (15th) > Packers 361.0 (20th)

Fewest Points allowed per game: Lions 21.8 (13th) > Packers 24.3 (22nd)

Summary:

This game is critical for both teams as it will determine the champion of the NFC North.  Green Bay is charging towards the playoffs amidst a five-game winning streak.  In that stretch the Packers are averaging 30.8 points per game.  Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is back to playing at an elite level and the defense is forcing turnovers at a much higher rate than they were early in the season.  Detroit was crushed last week by Dallas and have now lost their last two.  The Lions offense has struggled in their last five games averaging just 18.2 points per game.  Green Bay is (3-2) in their last five head to head games with Detroit.  The Lions play very well at home (6-1) but the Packers are clicking on all cylinders so I’m taking them to win on the road.
