Overview:

On Monday, December 12th, at 1:00 P.M. the (7-5) Baltimore Ravens will be on the road to take on the (10-2) New England Patriots.

The Crowd:

“The Crowd” projects a final score of Patriots 28.5 – Ravens 21.3 with an over/under of 49.8.  The Vegas Line has a final score of Patriots 26.3 – Ravens 18.8 with an over/under of 45.0.

2016-17 Statistics (32 total teams):

Yards per game: Patriots 387.5 (6th) > Ravens 347.7 (17th)

Points per game: Patriots 26.6 (6th) > Ravens 21.3 (21st)

Turnover margin: Patriots +5 = Ravens +5

Fewest yards allowed per game: Ravens 296.1 (1st) > Patriots 337.2 (9th)

Fewest Points allowed per game: Ravens 17.2 (tied for 2nd) = Patriots 17.2 (tied for 2nd)

Summary:

New England is (7-1) when Tom Brady plays and are averaging 29.8 points per game in that span.  Baltimore is also playing well at the moment as they are (4-1) in their last five games.  The Ravens defense has been a top ten unit all year long but especially dominant in their last five allowing just 13.6 points per game.  New England (+112) has the best point differential in the NFL while Baltimore ranks 6th in that category.  New England is (4-2) at home whereas Baltimore is just (2-3) on the road.  The loss of all-pro tight end Rob Gronkowski certainly hurts the Patriots offense, but they have plenty of experience playing without him.  I think this will be a much closer game and more low scoring than people would anticipate.  I like the Patriots to win by a field goal at home.
