Overview:

On Sunday, December 4th, at 4:25 P.M. the (8-3) New York Giants will be on the road to take on the (6-5) Pittsburgh Steelers

Mark May:

Mark is going with “The Crowd” predicting a final score of Steelers 38 – Giants 28.

The Crowd:

“The Crowd” projects a final score of Steelers 25.0 – Giants 21.8 with an over/under of 46.8.  The Vegas Line has a final score of Steelers 27.8 – Giants 22.3 with an over/under of 50.0.

2016-17 Statistics (32 total teams):

Yards per game: Steelers 364.8 (11th) > Giants 335.9 (21st)

Points per game: Steelers 24.2 (13th) > Giants 21.0 (21st)

Turnover margin: Steelers +4 > Giants -5

Fewest yards allowed per game: Giants 353.8 (15th) > Steelers 358.7 (18th)

Fewest Points allowed per game: Giants 19.4 (tied for 6th) > Steelers 20.2 (10th)

Summary:

New York comes into the game hot having won six straight games while Pittsburgh is just (2-4) in that stretch.  The Steelers have been playing much better as of late averaging over 27 points per game in their last three games.  Pittsburgh is (3-2) at home whereas New York is (3-2) on the road.  Pittsburgh’s record is misleading because they still have the 8th best point differential in the NFL (+44).  The Giants rank 14th in point differential (+18).  Pittsburgh struggled with injuries early in the season so it’s no coincidence they have played better with improved health.  The Giants have an elite defense that has carried them all year despite their low point production.  Turnovers have been a problem for New York and I think that will be the difference in this one.  I like Pittsburgh to win a close one at home.
