The Crowd

“The Crowd” projects a final score of Washington 31.1 – USC 28.2 with an over/under of 59.3.

2016-17 Statistics (127 total teams):

Passing offense: Washington 268.4 YPG > USC 264.6 YPG

Rushing defense: Washington 147.9 YPG > USC 153.1 YPG

Turnover Margin Per Game: Washington +1.5 > USC -0.1

Strength of schedule:

Washington is (9-0) with wins over California, Utah, Rutgers, Idaho, Portland State, Arizona, Stanford, and Oregon.  USC is (6-3) with wins over Utah State, Arizona State, Colorado, Arizona, California, and Oregon.  They were defeated by Alabama, Stanford, and Utah.

Summary:

Washington enters the game as one of the lone undefeated teams remaining in college football.  Washington ranks 2nd in scoring offense and 11th in scoring defense.  Huskies quarterback Jake Browning is playing like a Heisman Trophy candidate while receiver John Ross can take the top of any defense.  Washington’s defense is flush with NFL talent but face a big test this week.  Washington has the second best turnover margin in all of college football.

After losing three of their first four games USC has rattled off five straight victories.  USC ranks as a top 40 team both offensively and defensively.  The change to Sam Darnold at quarterback may have saved the Trojans season.  Since taking over Darnold has completed nearly 68% of his passes with 20 touchdowns to just four interceptions.  Many people have this game circled for the Huskies to stumble but I like them to win a close one at home.
