Strength of schedule:

Alabama is (8-0) with wins over USC, Western Kentucky, Ole Miss, Kent State, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.  LSU is (5-2) with wins over Jacksonville State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Southern Miss, and Ole Miss.  They were defeated by Wisconsin and Auburn.

Summary:

LSU has won five of their last six games and have the luxury of playing at home.  LSU has a top five defense and rank just out of the top 60 offensively.  LSU will have to lean heavily on star running back Leonard Fournette who will be up against an Alabama defense that leads the nation in stuffing the run.  Realistically, LSU will need a superhuman performance from Fournette to have a chance in this one.  LSU’s passing attack has been poor for most of the season and they will need to force several turnovers on defense if they want to win this one.

Alabama enters the game as one of the few undefeated teams remaining in college football.  They rank as a top ten team both offensively and defensively.  Quarterback Jalen Hurts has added a unique dual threat element to the Crimson Tide offense that we haven’t seen in years.  Alabama has scored 34 or more points in every game thus far but I think LSU has a chance to keep them under that for the first time this season.  Alabama has dominated this match-up in recent memory winning the last five.  I like Alabama to win by more than a touchdown.
