2016-17 Statistics (32 total teams):

Yards per game: Panthers 431.0 (3rd) > Vikings 292.5 (28th)

Points per game: Panthers 33.0 (1st) > Vikings 21.0 (tied for 17th)

Turnover margin: Vikings +5 > Panthers +1

Fewest yards allowed per game: Vikings 289.5 (5th) > Panthers 304.5 (7th)

Fewest Points allowed per game: Vikings 15.0 (tied for 5th) > Panthers 24.0 (20th)

Summary:

Minnesota will be without star running back Adrian Peterson who tore his meniscus in the victory over Green Bay.  Still Minnesota has one of the five best defenses in the NFL so I think this will be a close game.  Newly acquired quarterback Sam Bradford was really sharp for the Vikings last week.  Carolina will look to ground and pound against a tough Minnesota defense.  I think this will be a low-scoring affair and I like Carolina by a field goal.
