Summary:
The big shocker of the offseason was the Denver Broncos surprisingly naming Trevor Siemian their starter at quarterback after the retirement of legend Peyton Manning. Siemian, a seventh-round pick in 2015, has only one career pass attempt in the NFL. He put up solid numbers in the preseason but that usually doesn’t amount to much. Fortunately for the Broncos, Siemian has a strong offensive line, playmakers on offense, and an unbelievable defense.
Carolina returns nearly their entire roster from what was the best regular season team all of last year. Quarterback Cam Newton is fresh off an MVP season and will be looking for bigger things as his big play wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin returns from injury. The Panthers will be seeking revenge from last year’s Super Bowl defeat. This will be a low scoring game but Carolina have to be the favorites because nobody knows what to expect from Siemian.
