On Sunday, March, 20th at 7:10 P.M. the (5) Maryland Terrapins will take on (13) Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the second round of the 2016 NCAA Basketball Tournament.  Hawaii is (28-5) on the season while Maryland is (26-8).  “The Crowd” projects a final score of Maryland 76 – Hawaii 70.4 with an over/under of 146.4.  The Vegas Line has a final score of Maryland 75.5 – Hawaii 68.5 with an over/under of 144.

Field Goal Percentage Offense: Maryland 48.9% Hawaii 46.4%

Three Point Percentage: Maryland 37.5% Hawaii 32.5%

Free Throw Percentage: Maryland 76.5% Hawaii 68.4%

Turnovers forced per game: Hawaii 14.8 Maryland 11.2

These teams are very evenly matched in nearly every one of the major statistical categories.  Hawaii had not beaten a ranked team all season until they upset California in the first round of the tournament.  Maryland has signature wins over two ranked teams: Iowa and Purdue.  I give Maryland the slight advantage because of their shooting ability but I really respect the way Hawaii defends.  This should be a close one but I’m taking Maryland.
