On Sunday, February, 7th at 6:30 P.M. the (15-1) Carolina Panthers will take on the (12-4) Denver Broncos in the Pro Football Championship Game.  “The Crowd’s Line” projects a final score of Panthers 29.7 – Broncos 23.1 with an over/under of 52.7.  The “Vegas Line” has a final score of Panthers 25.3 – Broncos 19.8 with an over/under of 45.  The Panthers led the NFL in point differential for the regular season (+192).  The Broncos, by comparison, ranked 9th in point differential (+59).  The Panthers’ offense ranked 11th in yards per game (366.9) and 1st in points scored (500).  They will be up against a Broncos defense that ranked 1st in fewest yards allowed per game (283.1) and 4th in fewest points allowed (296).

The Broncos’ offense ranked 16th in yards per game (355.5) and 19th in points scored (355).  They will square off with a Panthers defense that ranked 6th in fewest yards allowed per game (322.9) and fewest points allowed (308).  The Panthers led the NFL in turnover margin during the regular season (+20).  The Broncos ranked 20th in turnover margin (-4).

The Panthers are coming off a 49-15 annihilation of the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game.  The Broncos narrowly defeated the New England Patriots 20-18 in the AFC Championship game.  The Broncos’ defense was able to harass and hit Tom Brady all throughout that game.  The major difference in this game will be Cam Newton’s mobility.  I believe he will be able to improvise and make plays with his legs even against the number one defense in the league.  The Panthers have been the best team in the NFL all season and I think they will prove that once again in Super Bowl 50.
