Strength of Schedule:
Michigan is (10-1) with wins over Western Michigan, SMU, Nebraska, Northwestern, Maryland, #15 Wisconsin, #24 Michigan State, #14 Penn State, Rutgers, and Indiana. Their lone defeat was a 24-17 loss to #14 Notre Dame in week one.
Ohio State is (10-1) with victories over Oregon State, Rutgers, #15 TCU, Tulane, #9 Penn State, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, #18 Michigan State, and Maryland. Their only loss was a 49-20 road defeat to Purdue in week eight.
Betting Trends:
-Michigan is 6-5 against the spread this season while Ohio State is 4-7.
-Michigan is 5-6 against the over/under this season whereas Ohio State is also 5-6.
Bottom Line:
After allowing 51 points to Maryland last week, it’s pretty clear that this is the worst defense Urban Meyer has had since taking over in Columbus. Dwyane Haskins and the high-powered Buckeyes offense have gotten away with outscoring teams all year but Michigan has the number one overall defense in the country. Michigan’s home (43.3 PPG) and road (25.0 PPG) splits are enough to scare some folks, but this is the year Jim Harbaugh gets his signature win over the Buckeyes.
Michigan wins 31-24
